Stop Drug Impaired Driving

An educational course for drug-impaired driving offenders
The Stop Drug Impaired Driving course is designed to help drivers gain a better understanding of how drugs and other substances can affect their ability to drive safely — sometimes in ways they may not immediately recognise.
Rather than simply focusing on the offence, the course provides practical information about how different substances can affect concentration, reaction times, coordination, judgement and decision-making when behind the wheel.
The aim is to provide useful knowledge and practical strategies that can help you recognise the risks, make safer choices and avoid drug-impaired driving in the future — protecting yourself, your passengers and everyone else sharing the road.

Is This Course for Me?
Have you ever wondered how much a drug or substance may have affected your driving?
Perhaps you felt completely normal, believed the effects had worn off, or simply didn't realise that a substance could still be affecting your concentration, judgement or reaction time.
You may also have wondered how prescription medicines, recreational drugs or a combination of different substances can affect your ability to drive safely.
This course will help you better understand how drugs can affect both your body and your brain, why those effects can vary from person to person, and why feeling okay doesn't necessarily mean you are safe to drive.
Most importantly, the course is about helping you understand the risks and giving you practical knowledge that can help you make safer decisions and avoid drug-impaired driving in the future.
